Mothers Helpers operates mostly on a voluntary basis. We try to keep our costs to an absolute minimum so that we can help more mothers around New Zealand. With funding cuts happening nationwide, we depend upon the kind generosity of New Zealanders who believe in what we are doing. It is now believed that up to 30% of mothers will experience postnatal depression or anxiety at some point. Mothers Helpers works to prevent this from occurring and to help those suffering to recover more quickly to reduce the effects PND has on her and her family.
If you want to partner with us and donate to this cause, there are a number of ways you can do that.
If you’d like to contribute a one-off financial donation:
- $6 gifts a mother with Postnatal Depression with a special “Light of Hope” candle
- $20 provides a mother with the Postnatal Depression Recovery workbook
- $10-60/week means that 4 mothers/year can complete the PND Recovery course (who would otherwise be unable to pay or can only make a part-payment)
- $600 sponsors one mother who would not otherwise be able to afford to attend the Mothers Helpers’ 10-week Postnatal Depression Recovery Course – this covers the cost of our venue, materials, overheads and payment of our counsellors
